
Parliament, Thursday, 1 February 2024 – The Secretary to Parliament, Mr Xolile George, will hold a media briefing on Friday, 2 February to give an update on the Parliament reconstruction programme.
The fire of 2 January 2022 left the National Assembly and the Old Assembly with significant damage. Subsequently, Parliament embarked on a rebuilding programme, which also included reconfiguring two floors in the 90 Plein Street building to provide offices for members while planning and design work for repairs and upgrades of the fire-damaged buildings continued.
